Leave the car at home for national Ride To Work Day – Wednesday 19 October

During COVID lockdown bike shops sold out of stock and seldom used bikes stored in the dusty corners of our garages were repaired and traded to meet the soaring demand. Cycling helped our mental and physical health and got us outside exploring our local area.

Urban planning that promotes green spaces with active transport such as walking and cycling infrastructure linked to public transport, helps to future proof our communities with lower emissions and improved public health.

This can be challenging in the urban environment where retro planning for cycling infrastructure can be expensive, however we have seen big investment across our major cities.

A small shift toward sustainable transport can result in a big saving in car parking. A lot of developers are discovering that looking at transport differently is an essential ingredient in making great places.

Are you still cycling?
